What we install.

The lead product

Buried tank

A fully buried tank creates no floor area: no déclaration préalable (prior declaration), no building permit, whatever its volume. Invisible in the garden, it lasts more than twenty-five years.

ConcretePolyethylene
Naturally neutralises the acidity of rain.No effect on pH.
Thermal mass: the water stays cool.More sensitive to changes in temperature.
Up to about 20 m³.Wide range of volumes.
Heavy — a more demanding installation.Light. Filter, pump and overflow often pre-fitted.
Stable, does not crack in frost.Never cracks in frost. Unaffected by UV and soil pressure.

What every compliant installation includes

  • “Eau non potable” (non-drinking water) signage at every draw-off point (good practice; required outside detached single-family houses)
  • A network entirely separate from the drinking-water network, with no connection point at all
  • Top-up from the mains: total-overflow disconnection, visible air gap
  • Upstream filtration ≤ 1 mm
  • Opaque, covered tank, screened vents ≤ 1 mm
  • Overflow able to absorb the full flow, to a storm drain or soakaway (wastewater network prohibited by the CASA and by the Cannes PLU)

Framework: décret n° 2024-796 (government decree) and arrêté du 12 juillet 2024 (ministerial order).

Buried, a tank lasts more than twenty-five years. Above ground, ten to fifteen. For a villa, the argument is not only the water: it is invisibility, and longevity.

A more tightly regulated addition

Greywater

Showers, baths, washbasins, washing machines: never WCs, and the kitchen sink often excluded because of grease. Four stages before storage: screening, biological treatment, membrane filtration, UV.

More complex, more costly and more demanding to maintain than rainwater. And more tightly regulated by law: a mandatory declaration to the prefect (the State’s representative in the département), quality A for watering, A+ for WCs or a fountain, monthly tests for the first two months.

We have found no grant specific to greywater to date.

A service in its own right

Survey and declarations

We read the PLU (local urban plan) regulations before telling you what has to be declared and what does not. An ABF perimeter (overseen by the state architect for heritage sites), a coastal zone, an indoor connection: each one changes the answer.

A tank declared when it has to be is a tank that can be resold without the risk of a hidden defect. That diligence is what we charge for, not just the hole in the garden.
